Client Nala Urban Oasis
The space that today hosts Nala Urban Oasis has been previously ever evolving, resulting to an interesting canvas for the Nala design project, where the main concept idea was to enhance the presence of bar surface. In a close distance to the existing bar in the back of the space, a new bar, along the elongated side of the space forms an in between private corner. While the core of the bar was designed for serving drinks, the front side, closer to the entrance, hosts the dj corner. This way, instead of being placed on the background, the dj becomes a focal point in Nala’s night life. Ethnic elements such as the Jali inspired window screens and space dividers add to the multicultural character of the space. The patterns for those perforated elements identify their origins in the Nala logo. With a reference to the word “nala” which amongst others means “queen”, selected elements such as mirrored surfaces and a custom lighting fixture made out of fabric in the centre of the room amplify the luxurious atmosphere of the space.
